Drug Shortages

Drug shortages, really?

We were recently visited by the San Francisco Chronicle regarding the drug shortages the U.S. has been suffering from. Included in the article is an interview with our Pharmacist Michelle Taymuree, about the short supply of saline bags. At Diablo Valley Oncology we have an infusion suite where all forms of medical therapy (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy, experiential therapy and supportive therapy) are administered to patients in individual private spaces with room for family members. We also have an in-house dispensing pharmacy that serves our patients needs. Being one of the largest free standing cancer clinics in the county we are accustomed to treating a large number of patients. While our pharmacists have been working tirelessly to ensure we are adequately stocked, our patients continue to receive their treatments without disruption.
