Diablo Valley Oncology & Hematology Medical Group’s East Bay Cancer Center Collaborates with the Physics Division of UCSF Radiation Oncology Department

October 7, 2016, Pleasant Hill, CA – Diablo Valley Oncology and Hematology Medical Group (DVOHMG) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the UCSF Department of Radiation Oncology.  This program allows DVOHMG radiation oncologists to make use of the resources and experience of UCSF physicists, who are located onsite in Pleasant Hill. These physicists assist in developing complex treatment plans and oversee the state-of-the-art technology required for optimal radiation delivery.

“Many patients don’t realize that their doctors are only one part of their team,” said Dr. Christine Chung, Director of the Radiation Oncology Department at Diablo Valley Oncology.  “The quality of the physics staff directly impacts the quality of a cancer patient’s treatment.  With this UCSF physics collaboration, patients will receive the highest quality of care while getting treated closer to home.”
